Processing personal data

It is possible for private detective agency Shetect to process your personal data because you are making use of our services. It is also possible that we process your personal data because they were presented to us concerning an investigation.

Purpose and foundation of data processing

Private detective agency Shetect processes  personal data for the following purposes:

  • Executing investigations;
  • Advising in the field of fraud prevention and personal safety;
  • Advising concerning cybersecurity;
  • Analysis of your behaviour on the website by which we strive to improve your website and attune the offer of products and services better to your preferences;
  • Private detective agency Shetect also processes personal data if we are legally bound to do this, like data we need for our tax records.

Private detective agency Shetect processes personal data exclusively on the basis of the foundations mentioned in the General Regulation Data Protection.  When your personal  data are processed private detective agency Shetect will see to it that you will be  timely informed about the applicable foundation and what this possibly may mean to you.

Or if in case of certain regulation it requires mandatory regulation that a certain client must stay  responsible for the data processing.”

Retention periods

Private detective agency Shetect  stores personal data no longer than strictly necessary to achieve goals  for which the data have been collected. Private detective agency Shetect applies the following retention periods for the following (categories of) personal data:

  • Customer details: a maximum of five years after completion of the assignment, unless the law requires a longer period of retention; customer data can also be stored longer if the client has made it known that he wants to keep being informed;
  • Research data: a minimum of one year and a maximum of five years, unless an (imminent) ongoing procedure requires more time;
  • Job interview data: a maximum of four weeks and a maximum of one year, but only if agreed upon by the applicant;
  • Browser data: a maximum of 6 months.

Sharing personal data with third parties

Private detection agency Shetect does not sell your data to third parties and will only provide them to third parties if this is necessary in view of the abovementioned purposes. Private detective agency Shetect can engage parties in its assignment to execute work for the agency under its responsibility, which entails the processing of personal data. Finally, private detective agency Shetect can share data with its lawyer in order to promote the interests of private detective agency Shetect in a judicial procedure.

Processor agreement

With companies processing personal data on behalf of private detective agency Shetect, Shetect will enter into a processor agreement  in order to achieve a similar level of security of your data. Private detective agency Shetect remains responsible  for these processing operations.

In order to be certain that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your identity document along with your request.  In this copy make your passport photo black , MRZ (machine readable zone),and make passport number and social security numberunreadable. This is to protect your privacy. We shall react as soon as possible, but within four weeks if requested by you.

Possibility of complaint and  appeal

Private detective agency has an internal complaint procedure. If you think private detective agency Shetect has made an error during the execution of its work, you can file a complaint. The Director of private detective agency Shetect will address your complaint, listen to your complaint and will take a decision concerning your complaint.

Private detective agency Shetect would like to point out to you the possibility to file a complaint with the national regulatory authority personal data.

Protection personal data

Private detective agency Shetect takes the protection of (personal) data serious and takes proper measures in order to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted publication and illegal changes.

Private detective agency Shetect has taken all measures it has to take on the basis of the general data protection regulation and has submitted its processes in the field of investigation and  debt collection to a Private Impact Assessment ( Data protection effect review, Article 35 AVG) on the basis of which additional regulations have been made.

Data carriers used by private detective agency Shetect, its staff and possibly  connected third parties are protected from unlawful access. The digital data carriers on which personal data files are stored are provided with the necessary encryption.

Noting a data leak
